Pegasus CEO Güliz Öztürk announced that they had increased their passenger numbers by 20% in 9 months. Öztürk also stated that they were ready to compete with AJet, which would operate as a separate company, separate from Turkish Airlines.

Pegasus CEO Güliz Öztürk, who met with the press on Pegasus Airlines’ flight special to November 10, made important statements.

According to the news published by AirportHaber, Öztürk, who stated that Pegasus would continue to grow in 2024 noted following; “We will acquire 17 Airbus A321NEO type aircraft. When we consider the aircraft to be retired from the fleet, we will achieve a 12% growth. Our aircraft have a range of 67 countries. 80% of our current fleet consists of new generation aircraft. This is economically important.”

“WE HAVE 96 INTERNATIONAL ROUTES”

Stating that they had 96 international routes, Öztürk said, “Currently, we have 96 international routes. Our international flights make up 80% of our total flights. However, we will increase this even more. The construction of the second runway at Sabiha Gökçen has been completed. However, the opening has been postponed for a while. With the opening of the runway, our growth rate will increase. This also means an increase in tourism revenues. Among the first routes we plan to fly are Chișinău, Lisbon, Alexandria, and Sofia.”

“WE INCREASED OUR PASSENGER NUMBERS BY 20 PERCENT”

Güliz Öztürk noted that they had increased their passenger numbers by 20% in the last 9 months. Öztürk also mentioned that they were ready to compete with AJet, which would operate as a separate company, separate from Turkish Airlines, as long as the competition was fair. Öztürk emphasized that Pegasus had no plans to operate long-haul flights, and their successful business model did not include such plans. She highlighted existing agreements, such as code-sharing with KLM, enabling Pegasus passengers to take long-haul flights.
