Statement by Cavusoglu on US bases in Greece

Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said the claim that US bases in Greece was against Russia was not credible. “They say these are against Russia, but they are not convincing,” Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu said regarding the US bases in Greece.

Çavuşoğlu participated in the panel titled “Turkish Foreign Policy in the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean” organized by the Politics, Economics and Society Research Foundation (SETA). Making the opening speech of his panel, Cavusoglu made a statement about the US bases in Greece.

“This situation is a threat to our security,” he said, adding, “We want Greece to comply with international law and restore the informal military status.”
