The Russian Defense Ministry said, “Thanks to the participation of the UN and the support of Turkey, we were able to obtain the necessary written guarantees by Ukraine regarding the grain agreement. Russia has found the guarantees it has received sufficient, it will continue its participation in the grain agreement.”

Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov, who is responsible for the Ukrainian leg of the grain corridor agreement, also announced that 3 ships would leave Ukrainian ports on November 8.

Kubrakov said, “The Black Sea Grain Initiative continues. On Thursday November 3, eight ships carrying agricultural products are expected to pass through the grain corridor. We have received approval from the UN. In addition, inspections will be carried out in the Bosporus tomorrow.”

GRAIN AGREEMENT

The grain shipment agreement, which was carried out under the coordination of Turkey to solve the global food crisis, was signed between Ukraine, Russia, Turkey and the UN under the auspices of President Erdogan in Istanbul on Dec. 22. Moscow had suspended the agreement on the grounds of the security problems experienced by its ships and the inability to sell its own fertilizer to the world.
