Statement from Erdogan regarding excessive prices in the market

President Erdogan has made following statements regarding excessive prices in the market.

“We listen to every complaint, especially about excessive price increases, and we seriously monitor every one of them. I give instructions to all ministries, institutions, municipalities.

We will not tolerate anyone who makes price increases that cannot be explained by increases in input costs and exchange rates, especially those who make stocks.

Anyone who commits such a serious crime will be caught. Neither the nation, nor history, nor the state will forgive those who pursue opportunism. This issue has nothing remotely to do with the free market economy.

A free market economy is not deregulation, vagrancy, unscrupulousness and immorality. This

Applies to free market economies all over the world.

As a government, we are determined to fight to the end against those who poison the market by raising excessive prices and stockpiling.
