US CHIEF OF STAFF IN SYRIA

An announcement was made about the crisis, which began when the Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, Milley, met with terrorist organizations in northeastern Syria at the beginning of March.

Ankara-Washington relations, which had been calm recently, were strained at the beginning of March due to the surprise visit of US Chief of Staff Mark Milley to terrorists near the Turkish-Syrian border. After the visit which drew Ankara’s reaction, Jeff FLLAKE, the US Ambassador to Ankara was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Turkey’s discomfort was conveyed to Flake.

Milley, who met and received information from the Syrian Democratic Forces, whose backbone is formed by the terrorist organizations PKK / YPG, made a statement today after the intervening weeks.

Milley said the purpose of his routine visit was to check on the task forces, assess their condition and issues such as the protection of the forces.

Emphasizing that Turkey and the United States had had a common interest for many years, the US Chief of Staff said, “We have been there for many years. Our common interest is that ISIS is defeated permanently. The Caliphate has collapsed. But the remnants of the organization are still there. Of course, this was something I had to do. It is an extremely appropriate move for the Chief of Staff to check the condition of US forces, especially when they are in a situation where they may be harmed.”
