During the flood disaster that hit SANLIURFA, dozens of people were caught up in the water and dragged through the streets. The 6-meter-high underpass at the Monument Junction was completely submerged. Some of the citizens caught in the flood survived by swimming, while others drowned and lost their lives.

Just when the wounds were starting to heal, the pain was starting to go away a little, this time the region was shaken by a flash flood. The picture in SANLIURFA was really heart-breaking.

EVERYTHING HAPPENED IN HALF AN HOUR

Heavy rainfall, which was effective in SANLIURFA early yesterday morning, turned into a flood with the overflow of the Mance Creek. Residents of the city said that there was nothing unusual at around 06.00 in the morning, everything happened within 20-30 minutes.

As a result of heavy rainfall, the districts of Şanlıurfa, especially Haliliye and Eyyübiye, suffered great damage. A 6-meter-high underpass located at the Monument Junction in the Haliliye district in the city center was flooded. Police divers conducted a search and rescue operation for dozens of people who were trapped in their vehicles while cruising through the underpass for hours.

The fact that the water was muddy and heavy made search and rescue efforts difficult. It was stated that three people had saved their lives by swimming with their own efforts, while the lifeless body of some citizens was reached. Relatives of those caught up in the flooding at the underpass watched the search and rescue work in tears.
