WEATHER-FORECAST-TURKEY

The Turkish State Meteorological Service has issued new warnings as storm clouds gather over the country’s west. Istanbul, Muğla, and Antalya are among the key regions drawing attention in the latest forecast. While Istanbul braces for heavy showers and thunderstorms, Muğla and Antalya will see partly cloudy skies turning unsettled later in the week.

Istanbul: A Rainy Night Ahead

In the Marmara region, Istanbul will turn from cloudy to stormy as evening approaches. The city is expected to face showers and occasional thunder through the night. Winds from the southwest may reach up to 60 km/h, adding intensity to the rain. The weather is expected to cool slightly but will stay near seasonal norms. Citizens are advised to take precautions against possible flooding and traffic disruptions.

Muğla: Cloudy Skies Over the Coast

Muğla, located between the Aegean and the Mediterranean, will remain partly cloudy through the day. While rainfall is not as intense as in Marmara, humid air from the Aegean could bring scattered showers by evening, especially around Bodrum and Fethiye. Temperatures will hover around 26°C, making it warm but slightly unstable toward night.

Antalya: Calm Before the Change

Antalya enjoys mostly sunny weather today, with only thin clouds passing overhead. Temperatures stay mild around 27°C. However, meteorologists note that atmospheric pressure changes in the west could bring showers later in the week, signaling the start of a cooler and wetter period for the Mediterranean coast.

Weather Outlook Across Turkey

Apart from these three coastal provinces, the rest of the country stays mostly clear. Central Anatolia, including Ankara, will have sunny skies, while the Black Sea and Eastern regions experience calm and dry conditions. Western Marmara and northern Aegean coasts, however, remain under alert for heavy evening rain.

Meteorology’s Evening Warning

Heavy rainfall expected tonight in western Marmara and along the northern Aegean may cause flooding and traffic problems. Residents in Istanbul and nearby cities should remain cautious, while Muğla and Antalya are advised to stay updated on upcoming changes in weather conditions.
