Syria’s message to Turkey requiring withdrawal of troops for normalization

Syrian Foreign Minister Mikdad has made statements about the normalization process with Turkey, which has been on the agenda recently.

Making statements about the normalization process, Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mikdad stated that Turkey should withdraw its troops from Syria and said, “We cannot talk about the establishment of normal ties with Turkey until this happens.”

Holding a press conference with his Iranian counterpart Hossein Emir Abdullahiyan visiting Damascus, Mikdad said, “Any talks with the Turkish side depend on respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria, ending the occupation and stopping support for terrorism. Before the meeting between President Assad and the Turkish leadership, it is essential that the causes of disagreements are eliminated.”
