Team of the century will bring new victories to Turkey in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games
In the 100th year of the Republic of Turkey in the Olympic Games, Tim Turkey will bring pride and new memories to our country in Paris 2024 with 101 athletes. With a few days left for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games to be held on July 26 – August 11, the “TEAM” who will represent TURKEY in the games has been determined.
As of Monday, July 8, 2024, it was confirmed that a total of 101 athletes, 54 women and 47 men, would take part in the team of the century in 18 sports branches.
Thus, for the second time after London 2012, the number of female athletes in our delegation has exceeded that of our male athletes.
Participation of Turkey in the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics
Number of Athletes and Sports: Turkey will be represented by 101 athletes competing in various sports at the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics. These athletes will participate in the following disciplines:
– Shooting, Athletics, Badminton, Road Cycling, Boxing, Artistic Gymnastics, Fencing, Wrestling, Weightlifting, Judo, Rowing, Table Tennis, Modern Pentathlon, Archery, Taekwondo, Volleyball, Sailing, Swimming
Team Sports
The only Turkish team sport represented will be the A Milli Women’s Volleyball Team. They will compete in Group C alongside Italy, the Netherlands, and the Dominican Republic, with matches scheduled for July 29, August 1, and August 4.
Olympics Duration:
The Paris Summer Olympics will run from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
Ticket Sales
Out of the 10 million tickets available for the Paris Olympics, 9.3 million have been sold, making it the highest-selling Olympics in history.
Opening Ceremony
The opening ceremony featured delegations traveling on boats along a 6.5-kilometer route on the Seine River.
Turkey’s Olympic History:
Turkey has won a total of 104 Olympic medals, including 41 gold, 27 silver, and 36 bronze. The most successful Olympics for Turkey was the 1960 Rome Games, where Turkish athletes won 7 gold and 2 silver medals.
