The Ministry of Culture and Tourism has made a noteworthy change in the regulation regarding residential rentals for tourism purposes. Just one month after the publication of the Regulation Amending the Regulation on the Regulation of Residential Rental Activities for Tourism Purposes, a change was regarding unlicensed buildings was announced.

With the temporary provision added to the “Regulation Amending the Regulation on the Regulation of Residential Rental Activities for Tourism Purposes,” published in the Official Gazette, unlicensed residences that have not obtained an occupancy permit from the municipality are allowed to engage in tourism rentals until the end of the year. These structures refer to buildings that appear as land, olive groves, etc., in the title deed, but have residences built on them; constructed outside earthquake regulations and building inspections.

The temporary article added to the regulation is as follows:

“In detached residences subject to rental for tourism purposes on the date the law enters into force, if the application is made with a title deed that does not contain the term ‘residence,’ the title deed is evaluated together with the other information and documents requested in Article 5, based on the written declaration stating that there is a residence on the property. In applications within this scope, a permit is issued valid until 31/12/2024.”
