It was reported that three US soldiers were killed and 34 others were injured in an attack using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) on US forces stationed near the Syrian border in northeastern Jordan.
ISLAMIC ORGANIZATION CLAIMS RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE ATTACK
The attack was claimed by the Iran-backed Islamic Resistance Organization based in Iraq.
BIDEN: ACCOUNTABILITY WILL BE DEMANDED
Reacting to the attack, US President Joe Biden stated, “We know that the attack was carried out by Iran-backed radical militant groups operating in Syria and Iraq.”
Biden stated that those responsible for the attack will be held accountable at a time and in a manner chosen by the US, and emphasized that they will continue to fight in this war.
