The electricity bill riot in Mugla: It’s not bearable any more

Citizens protested against electricity hikes in Fethiye, Milas, Menteşe and Köyceğiz districts of Muğla, also. Thousands of people gathered in front of the electricity distribution company and demonstrated. “The bills are not only hurting our pockets, but also hurting us” the citizen said, calling for the hikes to be reinstate.

Yeter (Enough) Platform, NGOs, political parties, trade unions met in front of AYDEM branch with  ‘Raise back, Nationalize electricity companies’ banners.

In a written statement, they said: Enough is enough. In our country, especially for the last six months, there has been a rain of hikes triggered by the inconceivable increases in the dollar exchange rate and it continues to rain on those of us who are trying to make a living with their labor.
