Diyarbakır, which has a history of 12,500 years and is home to 13 civilizations, experienced a 50 percent increase in the number of tourists in 2021 despite the pandemic.

The region is ready to to welcome 5 million tourists by 2023 with Diyarbakır City Walls, Hevsel Gardens, Malabadi Bridge, Zarzevan Castle, which are on the UNESCO World Heritage List, Çayönü Mound and Körtik Hill which are considered the first settlements of humanity on top of its culture and faith tourism. Diyarbakır was home to 13 civilizations in its history of 12,500 years.
