After increase in Halk Ekmek prices, citizens will also see a hike in bread prices at Istanbul bakeries

After the bread hike made by Istanbul Halk Ekmek Bread (operated by municipality) yesterday, the offer made by Istanbul Chamber of Bakers for a raise was accepted by a vote held at the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce today.

The price of 1 kilogram of bread was determined as a maximum of TL 14,286 in a vote held at the February Assembly meeting of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO). According to this, ITO-affiliated bakeries will sell 210 grams of bread for 3 TL in Istanbul.

The Istanbul Bakers’ Chamber had finally decided at the ITO’s November assembly meeting that the price of 1 kilogram of bread should be sold for 10.87 TL and 230 grams of bread for 2.5 TL.
