The Number of Foreign Capital Companies in Turkey Gone up to 26,000

Turkey has become a land of attraction for foreign investors as confirmed by the figures circulated by authorities. The strategic location of the country as well as the rapid improvement in the income and hence the buying power of the population has obviously contributed much to this situation.

The number of foreign capital companies established in Turkey within the last 57 years have reached 26,000.

250 of these companies are of EU origin while 202 are of Near and Middle East origin. 21,000 of these companies are newly established. 4,900 are affiliates and 668 are branches.

Among EU origined companies 4,000 are recorded to be from Germany, 2,000 from England and 2,000 from the Netherlands.

8,000 of these companies deal in wholesale and retail trading sectors. 4,000 are involved in production. 4,000 operate in the field of real estate and 2,400 are engaged in transportation, communication and warehousing fields.
