CONSTRUCTION IN MARMARIS BY SINPAS

It turned out that the construction carried out by Sinpaş GYO (real estate investment partnership) in Kızılbük Bay of Marmaris by slaughtering nature in the national park was strengthened by the hands of politicians. It has been shared on media Ekrem Pakdemirli, the father of former minister Pakdemirli, was a member of the board of directors at Sinpaş GYO for many years.

It turned out that Sinpaş GYO continued its construction in Kızılbuk Bay, located in the Icmeler district of Marmaris, by slaughtering nature in the national park, and this project (construction) has been given support by politicians in the last 20 years and led to the opening of the region to further construction.

Sinpaş, who bought the land on the seashore from businessman Emin Hattat, demolished the hotel and obtained a license to build a 205-room, 1407-unit timeshare housing. The interesting thing is that the construction area, which was 176 thousand square meters, suddenly increased to 277 thousand square meters.

POLITICIANS INVOLVED

Political relations of SINPAS also attract attention. Based on an article on media Ekrem Pakdemirli, a former minister and the father of former Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Bekir Pakdemirli, has allegedly been a member of the board of directors at Sinpaş for many years. His son Bekir Pakdemirli has allegedly worked as a member of the board of directors at Albaraka Türk Katılım Bankası of which SINPAŞ was a partner.

Last week, he was re-elected as a member of the bank’s board of directors. Another name that has a relationship with Sinpaş is allegedly said to be Bulent ARINC, who was once the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly. ARINC served as the chief judge in a case between Emin Hattat, a businessman and once the owner of a construction site, regarding on a project in Ankara.

ARINC did not accept the expert report showing Hattat as a creditor of 130 million dollars, but approved the report of the second expert who showed Hattat wrong and found SINPAS right.

According to expert reports, it is unknown what SINPAS, that had the trees cut in a forest of about 40 thousand square meters, did with the logs. It is not clear whether the felled trees in the areas leveled with construction equipment, were given to a national park or another institution. Some allegations are that SINPAS sold the logs of the trees and used them as lumber.

The bottom line is, the picture tells us that involvement of politicians in such delicate issues concerning preservation of environment can contribute to harming of the beautiful nature of this country by paving the way to more and more construction at invaluable spots of the country, the Aegean and Mediterranean coasts to be in the first place.
