Third month monitoring results of immune response of the ‘Sinovac vaccine carried out by health workers of the MCBU Medical Faculty Hospital were shared.

According to the results of the research conducted by a team of 12 people, 4 of whom were professors, 26 of the 1053 health workers who were vaccinated were again infected with the disease. In the study, 95.2 percent of Health Workers showed decreased antibody levels 3 months after the second vaccine. Accordingly, health workers may need a 3rd dose of the vaccine.

DECREASE IN ANTIBODY LEVELS OF HEALTH WORKERS

The most striking part of the research on the vaccine was the levels of antibodies. According to the study, antibody levels dropped in 95.2 per cent of health workers three months after the second vaccine.

Regarding antibody levels, the report said

* Antibody levels decreased in 95.2 percent of health workers three months after the second vaccine. At the end of the third month following two doses of the vaccine, SARS-CoV-2 antibodies were detected in 77 percent of health workers. This means, within 3 months after the vaccine, 23 percent of the study group either became ill or the antibody of these people became negative.

* All of this data will be more clear with the 6-Day post-vaccination, which we will do in August 2021. Levels and effectiveness will be clarified by follow-up results. In order for the effectiveness of the vaccine to be long-lasting in health workers the current picture suggests that the third dose  vaccine may be necessary.
