THY’s system has crashed, flights have been canceled
Turkish Airlines (THY) has announced that there were disruptions in ticketing and reservation processes due to network infrastructure problems. THY Press Advisor Yahya Üstün made a new statement on his social media account, stating, “All Turkish Airlines flights departing from Istanbul between 19:00 and 22:00 have been canceled.”
THY’s infrastructure system has crashed; reservation processes were disrupted, boarding passes were written manually, and flights were delayed. Passengers shared their grievances on social media.
STATEMENT FROM THY
Following the reactions, THY Press Advisor Yahya Üstün made two statements on social media about the issue.
In his first statement, Üstün said, “There are disruptions in ticketing and reservation processes due to network infrastructure problems. Necessary work is being done to resolve the issue and to prevent our passengers from being inconvenienced. We apologize for this inconvenience.”
In a later statement, he provided the information that “Due to problems related to the network infrastructure, our relevant units continue their efforts to resolve disruptions in ticketing and reservation processes. We will continue to share up-to-date information about the situation.”
FLIGHTS CANCELED
THY Press Advisor Yahya Üstün made two statements on his social media account as follows:
* All Turkish Airlines flights departing from Istanbul between 19:00 and 22:00 have been canceled.
* Due to a general network infrastructure failure in information technology, there are disruptions in our systems. Therefore, our flights scheduled to depart from Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen (SAW) between 19:00 and 22:00 (local time) on November 1 have been canceled. Thank you for your understanding.
