Antalya Governor Hulusi Şahin stated that they considered anything that would harm tourism as a target.

Speaking at a meeting organized by the Mediterranean Touristic Hoteliers and Operators Association (AKTOB) on the occasion of ‘World Tourism Day,’ Antalya Governor Hulusi Şahin said that they were targeting anything that harms tourism in Antalya.

Governor Şahin also addressed the issue of Airbnb, which Antalya’s tourism professionals pointed to as one of the reasons for low hotel occupancy. He stated, “Let me say something about the risks that Antalya tourism carries. Our police chief, gendarmerie commander, and chief prosecutor are here. We prioritize above all else that Antalya tourism does not suffer any harm with everything we do. And anything that could harm tourism is our primary target. The issue of Airbnb falls within this scope. The Antalya administration is doing and will continue to do everything in its power to support you.”

This statement by the Antalya Governor demonstrates that they are addressing concerns raised by local hoteliers and are committed to taking necessary steps to ensure that elements like Airbnb do not negatively impact tourism in the region.
