Mehmet Nuri ERSOY, Turkey’s Tourism Minister who spoke on a TV channel made important statements commented on the revival of tourism in Turkey and emphasized Turkey’s health tourism certificate program was very successful.

The Minister also said they regularly conducted meetings with counterparts in other countries and all tourism facilities in Turkey were expected to open their doors in July as part of the scheduled normalization process. The minister noted that there was no country in Europe implementing this kind of process better than Turkey.

He added that as of Thursday, foreign tourists from some countries, including those from Germany, would be allowed to enter the country as flights slowly began to resume. He said: “when foreign visitors arrive, they will undergo a health check and body temperatures will be measured at airports. If there is an unusual situation, tourists will be taken for a PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test”.

These measurements will begin in leading regions of Turkey, including the southern resort city of Antalya and the resorts of Bodrum and Dalaman, as well as airports in the Western Province of Izmir and Istanbul.

According to the minister, the country’s main priority in this process is maintaining air traffic to all countries. Regarding this issue he said “We hope to increase air traffic in July. The process of opening up air traffic for most countries will be completed in August”.
