Tourism season opens at Mount Nemrut, located in Adıyaman

The tourism season has opened at Mount Nemrut, located within the boundaries of the Kahta district of Adıyaman, which is listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Teams from the Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism along with students from Perre Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School distributed carnations to visitors at Nemrut Mountain, known as “the most beautiful place to watch the sunrise and sunset,” and explained the importance of the historical site.

In a statement to journalists Deputy Governor Mehmet Tığlı wished a prosperous tourism season.

Tığlı expressed that they expected a high number of visitors to the region this year, stating, “As part of Tourism Week activities, we distributed carnations to visitors with students at Nemrut Mountain. During the 9-day holiday period, our city hosted 45,000 visitors. This is a huge destination, and we are proud to host both domestic and foreign tourists.”

A Visitor named Erkan Ölmez mentioned that he had come from Istanbul to watch the sunset at Mount Nemrut.

French tourist Simon Pusebesti expressed his difficulty climbing Mount Nemrut but was deeply impressed by the colossal statues.
