Tourism sector contributes to Turkey’s economy with 9-month revenue of over $ 20 billion

The Central Bank has announced its balance of payments report for October. According to the announced statistics, the current account which had a deficit of $ 93 million in October of the previous year, yielded a surplus of $ 3 billion 156 billion in the same month of this year.

Although the exporter sector is often emphasized in the decisions taken in the management of the economy, the leading factor in the current account surplus in October was not the exporter sector, but tourism in services sector.

The balance of services increased by $ 1 billion 83 million compared to the same period last year to $ 3 billion 863 million. Net revenues from the travel item under the balance of services totaled $ 3 billion 336 million, which is an increase of $ 3 billion 25 billion compared to the same month a year ago.
