The transportation problem experienced in Antalya also affects holidaymakers. The disruption on both the city and district routes has a negative impact on tourism. The transportation problem, which is one of the biggest problems of Antalya, reflects negatively on tourism. Chairman of the Association of Travel Agency Managers (SAYD), said that there was a serious transportation problem in Antalya.

He also noted following; “The problems related to urban transportation continue to increase. In addition, tourist groups leaving Alanya and Manavgat have begun to miss planes. While transfers normally take place 3 hours before the flight time, we are currently making all plans 6 hours in advance.”

TRANSPORTATION PROBLEM IS STARTING TO BECOME CHRONIC

Emphasizing that the Antalya-Alanya Highway is insufficient, he said, “The transportation problem is starting to become a little more chronic every day. We also see from the videos taken by people complaining about how difficult the transportation in Antalya is, on social media channels. Of course, an alternative ring road needs to be built. We are also communicating this to the authorities.”

Antalya is a tourist city, but a sufficient infrastructure has not been created. And unfortunately, we pick up tourists with a plane from the hotel 6 hours in advance. We take them to the airport. Despite this, there are groups that miss flights. Individual vacationers, vacationers getting from place to place has also started to be very problematic. There is also no adequate transportation opportunity in this regard.”
