IMMIGRANTS ISTANBUL

Istanbul Governor Davut Gul made important statements about irregular migration and said: “We will deport every foreigner involved in crime without smallest tolerance. In a short time, irregular migration will be off the agenda of Istanbul.”

Speaking at the meeting of media representatives organized by the Istanbul Governor’s Office, Governor Davut Gul spoke about irregular migrants. Gül said, “In a short time, irregular migration will be off the agenda of Istanbul. We will deport every foreigner involved in a crime without looking at the tears in his eyes,”he said.

Gül said, “Some of the people who come to Istanbul come for investment, some come for educational purposes, we are a city with a lot of potential in health tourism. If our teams come across those not registered as due, while conducting an identity check, this means it is not certain how these people have entered our country; most probably illegally, so we send them back to their own country regardless of nationality.”

THOSE TRADING ARE UNDER CONTROL

Gul, who also gave information about the scope of residence permits of foreigners, continued as follows:

“Let’s say someone decided to live in Istanbul and this was allowed. What will this person do? He or she will trade. At the end of the day, while this permission is being extended, our friends check whether the work for this purpose has been done during the time allowed. What does this mean? That means; He says that I will trade, how much did the person who made the trade pay taxes, how many people did he employ? If a person has received permission to trade for two years and has not fulfilled those goals during that time, there are two alternatives. He could not establish order in a commercial sense, we are not extending it. He has established an order in a commercial sense, but he has worked informally, and we are not extending this, either”

WE DON’T LET ANYONE WALK AROUND STRAY

“Therefore, we need everyone who will contribute to Istanbul and contribute to Turkey’s economy, but apart from that, if he entered illegally, we deport him. There are certain catalog crimes that are allowed, but if drugs are involved in crimes such as terrorism harassment, we also deport this one. Our migration policy is mercy-oriented, justice-oriented. We are not persecuting anyone, and we are not allowing anyone to walk around here stray. In a short time, irregular migration will be off the agenda of Istanbul. Our law enforcement agencies are also doing what is necessary regarding the people who are engaged in this trade.”
