AHMET ERCAN PROFESSOR STATEMENT ERZIN

After the devastating earthquake that occurred on February 6 in Turkey, people began to question which regions in the country were safer.

Professor Dr. Övgün Ahmet Ercan, a senior geophysics engineer and one of the experts on earthquakes in Turkey, stated which regions in the country had the least risk of earthquakes in an interview he gave on Youtube.

The least risky cities indicated by the earthquake expert are listed below:

Ardahan, Artvin, Rize, Trabzon, Giresun, Ordu, Sinop, Samsun, Kastamonu, Zonguldak, Kırklareli, Tekirdağ kuzeyi, Yozgat, Sivas (büyük kısmı, Kilis, Mardin, Siirt, Diyarbakır, Gaziantep, Mersin, Antalya, Ankara, Aksaray, Kırşehir.

Important note: We tried to contact the expert as to the accuracy of the part having to do with Gaziantep and Diyarbakır (thinking there could be a mistake) but unluckily the professor did not get back to us to clarify said point, despite our 2 messages on Twitter.
