Travel Turkey: Ticket sales begin for the “Touristic Eastern Express”

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, has made an announcement regarding the Touristic Eastern Express services. Uraloğlu mentioned that ticket sales for the Touristic Eastern Express had started through authorized travel agencies as package tours.
Services Begin on December 23
Uraloğlu also stated that the 2024-2025 winter season services for the Touristic Eastern Express would commence on December 23. He said, “Our services, which are highly popular on the Ankara-Kars route, will continue until March 2, 2025. Departures from Ankara will be on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, while departures from Kars will be on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.”

Ticket Sales Have Started
Minister Uraloğlu mentioned that ticket sales for the Touristic Eastern Express had started through authorized travel agencies as package tours. For individual passengers, ticket sales will begin on November 8 via TCDD Taşımacılık A.Ş. ticket offices, online, mobile app, and call centers.
A Total of 60 Trips Scheduled
Uraloğlu added that based on passenger demand, they had adjusted the departure times. “The Touristic Eastern Express will depart from Ankara at 13:55, with stops allowing passengers to explore Erzincan for 150 minutes and Erzurum for 240 minutes. On the return from Kars, it will depart at 21:05, stopping for 210 minutes in İliç, 150 minutes in Divriği, and 180 minutes in Sivas,” he explained.

The minister also noted that the Touristic Eastern Express features eight sleeper cars and one dining car, adding, “During this period, with a total of 60 scheduled trips, our express train has a capacity of 160 passengers and will offer travel enthusiasts an unforgettable winter experience with the comfort of home in double-occupancy rooms.”
