“The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change has issued a statement regarding the news about Belcekız Beach being leased to businessman from Rize
In the statement released by the Ministry, it was confirmed that Belcekız Beach had indeed been leased, but it was emphasized that the leasing had taken place three years ago. The statement noted that the beach had not been leased to businessman from Rize, which raised questions about who the leasing was actually made to.
“We Leased to MUÇEV, Not to Him…”
The statement from the Ministry read as follows: “The Belcekız Beach mentioned in the news was leased to Muğla Environmental Foundation (MUÇEV) by the General Directorate of Natural Heritage Protection of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change on 07.10.2020. Subsequently, MUÇEV subleased it to another tenant on 24.11.2020. No new transaction has been carried out since that date. Furthermore, there has been no leasing process involving the individual named Kenan Kıran, as mentioned in the same news, conducted by MUÇEV. Respectfully announced to the public.”

While it was learned that the leased area is not only the beach, but also the walking paths and green park areas in front of the beach are included in the leased area. It was learned that concerned business person who leased it would carry out environmental arrangements in the region at the end of the season. While there is no entrance fee for the beach this season, it is stated that entry to the beach will be charged after the environmental arrangements. It is claimed that the area where paragliders from Babadağ will land will also be leased. Thus, paragliders will pay a fee to ……… for landing.
