Trump Gives Russia a 50-Day Ultimatum: “If There’s No Deal, We’ll Raise Tariffs!”

U.S. President Donald Trump stated, “I’m not happy with Russia at all. If they don’t reach a deal (with Ukraine) within 50 days, we will raise tariffs by 100%.”
President Trump made the remarks during a press conference at the White House while hosting NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
Trump said, “I’m not happy with Russia at all. If they don’t reach a deal with Ukraine within 50 days, we will increase tariffs by 100%.”
He added, “Today, we made a deal to send weapons to Ukraine,” noting that the U.S. would produce these weapons and NATO allies would cover the costs.
The president continued, “We are sending top-level weapons to Ukraine, coordinated by NATO.”
NATO Secretary General Rutte said, “The U.S. decision to supply weapons to Ukraine is very important. I will be meeting with European states, and we will prepare military aid containers for Ukraine. During this process, I’ve been taken more seriously in negotiations with Ukraine because of (Russian President Vladimir) Putin’s presence there.”
Prior to Rutte’s visit to Washington, President Trump had shared a post on his social media platform, Truth Social.
Claiming that the U.S. had been “ripped off militarily and commercially by friends and foes alike for decades,” Trump wrote, “This has cost trillions of dollars and is no longer sustainable. It never was.”
