Turkey becomes second country where Germans fly most

According to data in a report issued, Turkey became the second country with the highest number of flights from Germany, with an increase of 243 percent. According to said data released by the German federal statistical office Destatis, flights from the country to abroad by airlines increased by 338 percent from 1.45 million to 6 million in 2022.

The most preferred destination of German tourists was observed to be Spain, while the number of passengers arriving by plane increased by 534 percent to 876 thousand this month. Flights to Turkey increased by 243 percent to 526 thousand.

According to the information contained in the TourismDataBase, the number of German tourists and visitors heading to Italy also increased by 612 percent to 278 thousand, and to Greece by 344 percent to 111 thousand. Airline passenger departures to France also increased by 660 percent to 213 thousand.
