Turkey continues to experience seismic activity: 4.7 magnitude earthquake strikes Rize

The quake occurred at 12:02 PM and had a depth of 12.85 kilometers, according to initial reports. 

In a statement from AFAD (Turkey’s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority), it was announced: 

“An earthquake of magnitude 4.7 occurred in the Hemşin district of Rize at 12:02 PM. We are monitoring developments.” 

Earlier in the morning, Malatya had experienced a 4.9 magnitude earthquake.
