According to the 2023 strategy announced by Ministry of Tourism the country targets to welcome more than 75 million tourists in 2023 as a result of the works to be carried out and new multifaceted practices. Within this framework the Tourism Minister shared following statement.

“Turkey is a global brand that offers an extraordinary variety of travel opportunities that can meet the changing expectations of today’s tourists. By implementing the new strategies laid out in the 2023 Tourism Strategy, we will raise our country to the top league in the global tourism market with the number of tourists it welcomes and the amount of revenue it receives. We aim to have more than 75 million tourists visit our country by 2023 and generate US$ 65 billion in tourism revenue. We plan to do this by increasing the average spending per tourist and increasing the average number of overnight stays from 9.9 to 10, reaching the average spending level of $ 86 per night”.

We increased the publicity budget of our ministry from $ 18 million in 2018 to $ 72 million in 2019 with the policy change we put forward. In 2020, together with our ministry and the newly established Turkish Tourism Promotion and Development Agency, we aim to increase the promotion budget to 180 million dollars. We aim to close our existing deficit with the increases we will make every year. In line with this goal, we will try to reach a US$ 220 million promotional budget in 2023. We will increase our tourism revenues as we promote with the Tourism Promotion and Development Agency of Turkey, and we will increase our publicity budget as our revenues increase.”
