Turkey lifts mask requirement in public transport as case number remains below 1000

In the last 24 hours, 864 cases of Covid-19 and two deaths were recorded in Turkey. With daily cases recorded below 1000 in a row, the mask requirement was lifted in public transportation. In one day, 129 thousand 961 tests were performed. 1107 people recovered.
Health Minister Fahrettin Koca, in his statement on May 22, had said that if the number of cases dropped below 1000 for three consecutive days, the mask requirement would be lifted in public transport and hospitals.
“The number of cases has been below 1000 for three days in a row” the minister wrote in today’s Twitter shares. We can take off the masks if we want, on public transport. The road is shorter without a mask! With the exception of hospitals, usage of mask is not mandatory any more. But after all this experience, we can take our mask with us for crowded indoor areas, especially for public transport.”
