Turkey ranks fifth in the world in the number of cases: “It’s time to take precautions”
Although testing is limited, even with data verified by the Ministry of Health, Turkey ranks 5th in the World Health Organization weekly case count table. The Science Academy also revealed that there were 25 percent more additional deaths than usual in Istanbul, last week.
The number of weekly cases between July 25 and August 1 was determined as 406 thousand 322 according to the data announced by the Ministry of Health, while 337 people lost their lives.
Although Turkey is very limited in having tests, it has climbed to 5th position in the World Health Organization table in the weekly number of confirmed cases of Covid 19.
In the table, Japan took the first place with 1 million 498 thousand 719 cases and 1078 deaths. The second was South Korea, the third was Vietnam, the fourth was the United States.
Following the increasing number of cases, the increase in deaths has also caused concern. A public health expert commented, ”It is not the time to be relieved, it is the time to take precautions”.
25 PERCENT MORE DEATHS THAN USUAL
