“There is no alcohol problem in Turkey, but we are trying to deal with this problem as if it existed”

We see that Turkey is the last among 47 European countries in the consumption of alcoholic beverages and the third in terms of the percentage of taxes levied on alcoholic beverages.

A tax of 260 percent levied on RAKI actually removes all the question marks on the heads. The data that the most consumed alcoholic beverage in Turkey is beer proves that Turkey does not have a problem with alcoholism, but the actual situation of measures taken show the target seems to be to intervene and make it more difficult in terms of rights and freedoms than to regulate.
