Turkey requests hazardous material analysis from Brazil after asbestos ship departs
The asbestos-spewing ship, which the Ministry of Environment has allowed to be dismantled (in Turkey), but which has caused great reactions, is approaching Turkey.
It was shared that Turkey had requested a new ‘hazardous material analysis’ for the asbestos ship within its borders, upon reactions. Brazil rejected this saying “it would be appropriate to do it at the entrance to Turkey”.
It was revealed that the Ministry had allowed a company called Sök Denizcilik to dismantle the toxic warship in Izmir Aliağa. The voyage of the ship named Nae Sao Paulo, which the Brazilian Navy retired in 2017, continues towards Aliaga despite the great reaction of the opposition and environmental organizations.
