Turkey: White goods sales goes up by 18,4 percent in August

DAILY NEWS photo, Hasan ALTINIŞIK.Turkey’s domestic market white goods sales rose 18.4 percent in August compared to the same period last year, according to data released yesterday by the White Goods Suppliers Association (BEYSAD).

The production of white goods in Turkey rose 7.7 percent in the first eight month of the year compared to the same period of last year, according to BEYSAD. The total sales of white goods rose to 626,758 in August this year from 528,987 in the same month last year. The total production of white goods rose to 1.79 million in August from 1.67 million in August 2010.

By the end of August this year, Turkey’s white goods exports had risen by 6.2 percent to 1.40 million in a 12-month period from 1.32 million compared to the previous year. Turkey’s white good production rose by 2.5 percent, exports by 16.6 percent, imports by 6.5 percent and domestic sales by 1.3 percent in August compared with the same month last year.

The production of Turkish white goods jumped by 24.8 percent in August, and sales in the domestic market rose by 58.8 percent in the same month compared to January, according to BEYSAD. In July, the total production of white goods reached 1.75 million and the country exported nearly 1.2 million white goods in total. The total number of white goods imports reached 70,504 in July.
