Turkey’s aluminum sector targets to realize exports worth US$ 8 billion in 2018

Turkey’s most important companies in the aluminum sector attended the exhibition ALUMINUM DUSSELDORF 2018. A total of 68 companies were reported to have taken part in the show. Turkey which succeeded to export aluminum products worth US$ 2.4 billion in 2018, eyes to increase this figure by 20 percent this year with an eventual target of US$ 8 billion in 2023.

The chairman of the Istanbul Iron and Non-Ferrous Metals Exporters’ Association released a statement in the meantime drawing attention to the importance of the aluminum sector in the industry and the economy, and emphasized it had a vital role for Turkey to achieve the 2023 targets and take its place in the top ranks among developed economies.

The chairman also emphasized that the biggest source for the sector to make progress was knowledge and experience, adding that the Turkish aluminum sector could accomplish much more successful projects by using its existing potential. The chairman stated that production technology and product quality would provide advantages in competition and entering new markets. He added R&D and innovation were the priorities of the sector in particular.
