The Constitutional Court has given the pro-Kurdish HDP party 30 days to prepare a defense in the HDP closure case.

The Constitutional Court (AYM) has sent its opinion on the merits of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Supreme Court to the party in the case filed with the request to close the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP). The party was given 30 days to prepare its defense.

The Supreme Court rejected the HDP’s request that the defense of party members who were asked for a political ban should also be sent to the Prosecutor General’s Office. In addition, the HDP’s rejection request for AYM member Irfan Fidan due to his previous duties, was also rejected.
