Turkey’s Finance Minister announces new economic program for next 3 years

Berat ALBAYRAK, Turkey’s Treasury and Finance Minister announced the New Economy Program sharing new economic indicators targeted by the administration. The US dollar which had gone down to 6.14 TL before explanations by the Minister went up to 6.29 after the program was announced.

The minister who announced the program explained that the program sat on 3 main foundations, namely “balancing, discipline and change”. ALBAYRAK said, “Our main source has been a new success story while writing our new economy program for the next 3 years”.

The minister announced the growth expectations for 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 as 3.8, 2.3, 3.5 and 5 percent respectively.  As for inflation forecasts, he announced figures of 20.8 percent for the current year and 15.9 percent and 9.8 percent for 2019 and 2020 respectively.
