Turkey’s foreign debt increases to US$ 451.2 billion

As of the end of the first quarter 2022, Turkey’s gross foreign debt stock was $ 451.2 billion; the ratio of stock to national income was 56.8 percent.

The Ministry of Treasury and Finance announced some debt stock data and gross domestic product (GDP) ratios at the end of the first quarter of 2022. Accordingly, Turkey’s gross foreign debt stock was $ 451.2 billion as of the end of the first quarter; the ratio of the stock to national income was 56.8 percent.

THE PUBLIC NET DEBT STOCK IS TL 1.84 TRILLION

Turkey’s net foreign debt stock was $ 231.4 billion as of the first quarter; the ratio of stock to national income was 29.1 percent.

Turkey’s public net debt stock was TL 1.84 trillion as of the first quarter; the ratio of the stock to national income was 22.2 percent.

Turkey’s EU-defined general administrative debt stock was TL 3.54 trillion as of the first quarter; the ratio of the stock to national income was 42.6 percent. (REUTERS)

On the other hand, external debt indicators are observed to be worse than in 2002. At the end of 2002, when the AKP came to power, the country’s external debt was $ 124.9 billion.
