Turkey’s Health Minister makes statement about recent development on vaccine work

Health Minister KOCA made a statement about recent development regarding coronavirus vaccines saying, “Research work on vaccine development is ongoing in 6 centers. I asked the UK Health Minister when the vaccine could be in use if all went well. The Minister replied it was difficult before September”.
Minister Fahrettin KOCA made statements after the video conference meeting of Science Board (of the Ministry of Health) conducted at BILKENT Campus in Ankara.
The Minister referred to the vaccine studies in Turkey and shared following:
“Studies are continuing at 6 centers, currently. 3 of them have succeeded to isolate the virus. We will be informed of the developments as progress is achieved.
The UK was the one who countries in the world who had informed about new developments in terms of implementation as well. I spoke to the UK Health Minister in detail today.
During this period they had requests for protective equipment and we issued the permission yesterday. In this sense, Turkey has taken steps to help Britain for the second time.
Both scientists from Turkey and UK will exchange information and experience. The British Minister expressed that even if all went well, the implementation of the vaccine by September would still be out of question.”
