Turkey’s Statistics Institute announces yearly and monthly inflation figures

TUIK ANNOUNCES INFLATION FIGURES FOR TURKEY

TurkStat has published inflation figures. Based on announcement made by said authority, inflation  was 17.14 per cent year-on-year. It was observed to have increased 1.68 percent month-on-month.

In April December 2021, CPI (2003=100) increased by 1.68 percent in April, compared to the previous month, 5.45 percent compared to December of the previous year, 17.14 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and 13.70 percent based on twelve-month averages.

Main groups with low growth compared to the same month of the previous year were communication with 9.05%, education with 10.21% and clothing and shoes with 11.03%, respectively. In contrast, the main groups with a high increase compared to the same month of the previous year were transport with 29.31%, household goods with 22.27% and health with 19.20%, respectively.
