Microsoft founder Bill Gates and wife Melinda Gates announce decision to divorce

Microsoft founder Bill Gates and his wife Melinda Gates have announced their decision to end their marriage. “After much thought and hard work on our relationship, we have decided to end our marriage,” a statement on social media account of Bill Gates said.

“WE NO LONGER BELIEVE THAT WE CAN GROW”

The message also shared following:

* Over the last 27 years, we have raised three wonderful children and established a foundation that works all over the world to ensure that all people live healthy and productive lives.

* We continue to share our faith in this mission and will continue to work together at the foundation, but we no longer believe that we can grow together as a couple at this later stage of our lives.

FOUNDATION WORK EXPECTED TO CONTINUE

Gates, who stepped down from Microsoft’s board last year, is expected to continue his work as foundation co-chair at the nonprofit Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which he and Melinda Gates founded in 2000.

THEY HAVE 3 CHILDREN

The Gates couple married in 1994 after they met at Microsoft. The couple have 3 children named Jennifer, Phoebe and Rory Gates.
