Turkey’s tourism target for 2028 is 100 billion dollars

Assessing the latest tourism data, Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek said “Our target for 2028 is to reach 100 Billion Dollars in tourism revenue with 82.3 million visitors.”

Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek made a statement regarding the recently announced tourism data. According to reports, Minister Şimşek, in a statement made from his X account, said, “In 2023, we achieved the best performance ever in tourism. The number of visitors to our country reached 57.1 million with an annual increase of 11.1 percent, exceeding the year-end target (56.7 million). Tourism revenue amounted to 54.3 Billion Dollars.

According to the Medium-Term Program, we expect the number of visitors to increase to 59.4 million and tourism revenue to reach 59.6 Billion Dollars this year, continuing the strong trend in tourism. Our target for 2028 is to reach 100 Billion Dollars in tourism revenue with 82.3 million visitors.”
