Turkey’s Turkstat announces inflation figures for April 2023

According to the TURKSTAT, consumer inflation was 2.39 percent monthly and 43.68 percent annually in April. According to ENAG (private group), consumer prices increased by 4.86 percent monthly and 105.19 percent annually in April.

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) has announced consumer inflation data for April.

Accordingly, consumer prices increased by 2.39 percent in April 2023 compared to the previous month, by 15.21 percent compared to December of the previous year, by 43.68 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and by 67.20 percent according to twelve-month averages.

Thus, the monthly increase series in the consumer price index is continued in month 52, as well.

The TURKSTAT had announced monthly inflation of 2.29 percent and annual inflation of 50.51 percent in March. The inflation expectation for April was 2.65 percent per month, 44.06 percent per year in the AA survey, 2.6 percent per month in the Reuters survey and 44 percent per year.

Istanbul inflation, announced by the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO), was 4.57 percent monthly and 62.46 percent annually in April.
