THY PILOT DIES DURING FLIGHT

Before the earthquake, the average ticket price for flights between Istanbul and Ankara was around 1,000 TL. However, this price rose to over 4,000 TL. Turkish Airlines Press Advisor Yahya Üstün announced that, due to the recent Istanbul-centered earthquakes, additional flights would be organized to locations in need.

He also stated that the domestic ticket price cap has been set at 1,750 TL and that this change would soon be reflected in the system.

Following a series of earthquakes in Istanbul, the sharp increase in ticket prices sparked significant public backlash. After receiving heavy criticism on social media, Turkish Airlines released an official statement.

PRICE ADJUSTMENT

Yahya Üstün, Turkish Airlines’ Press Advisor, made the following statement on his social media account:

“First of all, we extend our best wishes to our fellow citizens in Istanbul and everyone affected by the earthquakes felt in Istanbul today. Under the current circumstances, we are scheduling additional flights to locations in need, and we have set our domestic price ceiling at 1,750 TL. We would like to inform the public that this adjustment will be reflected in our systems shortly.”
