Caglayan stresses importance of venture capital and entrepreneurship

Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan yesterday met with leading fund managers and CEOs from 50 private firms at a meeting in which venture capital models with public and private sector partnership were discussed.

Speaking at the meeting, Caglayan said that the companies supported with venture capital have increased their export rates by 220 percent, which shows that entrepreneurship and venture capital practices are vitally important in terms of Turkey’s exports.

Caglayan said that Turkey would maintain its role as a key country in global arena in 2012 and thus productive associations formed by domestic companies would swell the sails.

Caglayan added that they aimed to further increase the share of high-tech products in the country’s total export volume which has been on the level of 44 percent since 2006.
