The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) has announced the inflation figures for August 2024. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) saw a monthly increase of 2.47% and an annual increase of 51.97%. This marks a slight decline in inflation due to the base effect.

Compared to December 2023, consumer prices have risen by 31.94%, while the 12-month average inflation rate was reported at 64.91%.

Economists had expected slightly higher inflation figures for August, with forecasts around 2.64% monthly and 52.2% annually. However, the actual figures came in slightly below these expectations.
