TURYOL STOPS ITS SERVICES DUE TO ECONOMIC CRISIS

Turyol which provides maritime transportation services, has announced that it has stopped some of its flights due to increased costs. Istanbul company decided to stop its services due to the hikes in fuel oil and the rise in the exchange rate and the prices of technical materials.

In a statement on its website Turyol said, “The inevitable increase in inflation triggered by severe economic conditions in our country and consequent developments such as 32 percent increase in oil prices in one month and 110 percent in one year, 100 percent in prices of technical materials essential for maintenance of our ships and devaluation of TL at a rate of 100 percent against foreign currencies, has put us in a situation where we cannot afford our cost any more. We regret to state that we have stopped our Çınarcık and Esenköy services from Istanbul, as well as Kadıköy (Metro Pier)-Karaköy/Eminönü services which we have so far continued to operate (despite prevailing economic conditions) until the time our costs can be met.”
