MINISTER OF LABOR AND SOCIAL SECURITY PENSION INCREASE

Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Bilgin said after the minimum wage increase, pensions will also be regulated and in case of inflation is high, the difference would be paid to civil servants.

Bilgin said about pensions, which remained quite low after the 50 percent increase in the minimum wage, “Our pensioners are very important. We will make an arrangement that takes care of low-income pensioners. The work we will do from now on will be reflected in all pension groups.”

Bilgin’s assessments of the salaries of civil servants were as follows: “We have held negotiations with our civil servants’ unions. Then we made the agreement and there is a memorandum that we reached there with our confederation. There are a few things that are important: If inflation exceeds the wage we set in said agreement, we will give the difference. We will also realize this difference at a level that will also be a social transfer. If inflation exceeds, say, half a percentage point, we will consider it as social welfare.
